Here we discuss about the WordPress Plugin Setting. WordPress plugins are programs written in PHP scripting language that extends the functionality or add some new features to our WordPress site. They provide additional functions to an application.
Users can add some more functions in their site without any coding skills by adding plugins. There are thousands of freely and commercially plugins available. For each and every function there is a plugin available in the WordPress.User can also uninstall plugin from their site.
Here are some steps to add, install or edit plugins to your site.
Step 1 : Plugin setting is displayed in setting section of wordpress dashboard so, click on Plugin and then on Installed plugin.
Step 2 : On this page there will those plugins appears which are already installed in your wordpress site.
Step 3 : In Plugin setting there is an another option named “Add New” click on Add New option.
Step 4 : Here A list of plugins appears that are used in WordPress. Here you can directly install plugins from the available list or you can upload it by clicking on Upload Plugin.
When you click on upload plugin then there will another page displayed on that there you will see ‘browse’ option Click on Browse, it goes back to the page where you can select plugins from WordPress site. And if you click on Choose File, you can add files from your system. Otherwise, you can directly choose the plugin that you need and click on Install now. After clicking on it the plugin will get started to download and after that it get installed. Then you have to click on Activate plugin to activate plugin to use in your site.
After clicking on Activate Plugin you’ll get a message as Plugin activated and you can also find the installed plugin in the list.
Below the plugin activated message, you can view few options such as All, Active, Inactive and Update available.
When we click on Inactive, the plugins which are available but are not activated gets displayed. You can activate this plugin by clicking on Activate.
In Search Installed Plugins you can just type your plugin name in the text box that is already installed and click on the Search Installed Plugins button.
Step 5 : One more option is available in plugin setting and it is ‘Plugin Editor’ click on plugin editor .
In this option you can edit the plugins which you has installed in a wordpress.
Select plugin to edit : This setting allows you to select the plugin which you want to edit.
Documentation : Allows you to select the tools from the dropdown to edit the plugin.
Plugin Files : It allows you to select the plugin files and edit it accordingly.
Step 6 : After editing the plugin you have to click on update file to save the changes.
